In England, you have a legal right to choose your provider for an NHS-funded ADHD assessment. It is called Right to Choose; it needs a referral from your GP, and it costs you nothing.

What the ADHD assessment involves IN OXFORD

What happens after diagnosis IN OXFORD
Medication: Our consultant psychiatrists can prescribe ADHD medication after a confirmed diagnosis, with titration appointments to find the right dose and review appointments to monitor how it is working.
Shared care: If your GP agrees to a shared care agreement, ongoing prescriptions can transfer to NHS care, which reduces the long-term cost considerably. GPs are not obliged to agree, and practice varies by area, so this is worth asking your own GP about early.
Without medication: Cognitive behavioural therapy, ADHD coaching and practical strategies are all options, and for some people they are the preferred route rather than a fallback.
