Same Day Appointments
Same day screening appointments are usually available across all ten clinics.

Six screens, from a baseline check to a full profile including hormones. Every result is explained face to face by a doctor, with a written plan you can act on. Screening a well person only helps if someone interprets it properly.
Most people have a rough idea of their health and very little data behind it. A health check replaces the guess with numbers: how your heart, liver, kidneys and thyroid are working, where your cholesterol and blood sugar sit, and whether anything needs attention now rather than in five years.
The screen itself is the easy part. What makes it useful is the consultation afterwards, where a GP goes through every result with you, explains what matters and what does not, and gives you a plan. A screen without that conversation is just a spreadsheet. Where something does need acting on, treatment or referral is arranged here.

Same day screening appointments are usually available across all ten clinics.
Clinics are open Monday to Friday 8am to 7pm, and Saturday 9am - 2pm.
Health screens include glucose and cholesterol, which are better measured fasted, so a morning appointment is usually best. We will confirm what you need to do when you book.

A private health check is a bundled set of tests and measurements designed to give a broad picture of how your body is working, followed by a consultation with a GP to interpret it. A typical screen covers cardiovascular markers, blood sugar, liver and kidney function, thyroid, full blood count and, depending on the screen, hormone levels.
The value sits in the interpretation and in the trend. A single set of results tells you where you are today. Repeating the same screen annually tells you which direction you are heading in, which is far more actionable, because a cholesterol figure creeping up over three years matters more than one reading at the edge of a reference range.
A word of honesty about limits. Screening a well person finds abnormal results that turn out to be nothing, and chasing those causes anxiety and further tests without improving health. Screening is genuinely worth doing, particularly with a family history or symptoms, but it is not a guarantee of good health and it does not replace acting on symptoms when they appear. Our GPs will tell you which findings matter and which can safely be left alone, which is precisely why the consultation is part of the package rather than an upsell.

The NHS Health Check is genuinely worthwhile if you are eligible, and it is free. A private screen is worth paying for when you are outside the age band, want it more often than every five years, want a broader scope, or want a doctor rather than a summary letter.
During a healthcare assessment, you’ll meet with a medical professional who will review your medical history, lifestyle, and any current health concerns. The process may include a physical examination, blood tests, and other diagnostic evaluations tailored to your needs. You’ll also receive guidance on maintaining or improving your overall health and a follow-up plan based on the results.
A comprehensive health check may include:
Yes, over thirty individual tests can be added. See our blood tests page.

It can be, particularly with a family history or if you have never had a baseline. It is also fair to say that screening a well person sometimes finds things that turn out to be nothing, and our GPs will be straight with you about which findings actually matter.
