WORKPLACE FLU CLINICS
- Why it works. Flu absence is seasonal, concentrated and predictable, which makes it the one workplace health intervention where the effect on absence is visible rather than assumed.
- When to book. Autumn, and the arrangements need making before it. Vaccine supply and clinic capacity are both finite, so employers who book in summer get the dates they want.
- Delivered at your premises or at our clinics, whichever suits your sites.
- Protection takes around two weeks to develop, which is worth factoring into when you run the session.
WHY EMPLOYERS INVEST IN GP ACCESS
Waiting is the cost. An employee who cannot get an appointment stays unwell for longer, works at reduced capacity while they wait, and takes more time off in total than the problem needed.
Presenteeism costs more than absence. People at their desks and not functioning are harder to see and more expensive than people who stayed at home.
It is used, unlike most benefits. GP access is a benefit people need rather than one they appreciate in principle, which is why take up is high compared with most wellbeing spending.
