Book a weight loss clinic appointment WITHOUT THE WAIT

Most people arriving at a weight loss clinic have already tried. They have dieted, they have exercised, and they have lost weight and put it back on. Being told to try harder is not useful, and neither is a website that takes your card details and posts you a pen.

This is a medical service. Your first consultation is free, and in it, a doctor looks at the whole picture: your weight history, what you have already tried, your other medical conditions and medication, and whether something underlying is making this harder than it should be. Thyroid problems, insulin resistance, certain medications, and PCOS all affect weight, and all change what will work.

From there, you get an honest answer about your options, including whether prescribed treatment is clinically appropriate for you and whether it is not. If the treatment is right, you are monitored properly throughout rather than left with a prescription.

WHICH WEIGHT LOSS INJECTION IS BEST?

  • Wegovy. Semaglutide, one injection a week, doses from 0.25mg up to 2.4mg. Licensed specifically for weight management. £295 at every dose.
  • Mounjaro. Tirzepatide, one injection a week, acting on two gut hormone pathways rather than one. Priced by dose, from £295 up to £450 at the top dose.
  • Ozempic. Semaglutide, weekly. Licensed for type 2 diabetes, prescribed off label for weight loss. That is lawful, but you should be told it is off label, and why it is recommended over a licensed alternative.
  • Saxenda. Liraglutide, daily rather than weekly. Suits some people who tolerate the weekly options poorly.

AM I ELIGIBLE FOR WEIGHT LOSS INJECTIONS?

You may be eligible if:

  • Your BMI is 30 or above, or
  • Your BMI is 27 or above with a related condition such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnoea or raised cholesterol, and
  • You have tried diet and exercise and struggled to achieve or maintain a result.

It is not suitable if you:

  • Are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding
  • Are under 18
  • Have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer, or MEN 2
  • Have had pancreatitis, or have active gallbladder disease
  • Take medicines that would make it unsafe, including some diabetes treatments

Every treatment requires a medical assessment. That is what the free consultation is for, and we do decline people.

Weight loss clinic vs NHS: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?

An NHS GP is free at the point of use but often has longer waits and shorter appointments. A private GP is paid for directly, usually seen the same day or within days, with longer consultations and greater continuity. You can use both, and seeing a private GP does not affect your NHS care.

If you meet NHS criteria and can wait, that route is free and clinically sound, and we will tell you if it is the better option for you. Private care is worth paying for when you fall outside those criteria or cannot wait.
