Book your YELLOW FEVER VACCINE IN CAMBRIDGE
Same day and next day appointments are usually available at Toft Road, Bourn.
The ten day rule is the only hard deadline in travel vaccination. Your International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis becomes valid ten days after the injection. Fly before that and border officials can refuse you entry, and no clinic can shorten it.
Bring your itinerary and your old certificate if you have one. Yellow fever certificates issued from 2016 onward are valid for life under current international rules, so if you were vaccinated before you may not need another, and we will check rather than revaccinate you.

Why travellers choose our CAMBRIDGE YELLOW FEVER CLINIC
• Certificate issued at the appointment, not posted on later in the week.
• £95 all in, with no separate certificate or consultation fee.
• Same day appointments in Bourn.
• Given by a GMC registered doctor, who assesses whether the vaccine is safe for you first. Yellow fever is a live vaccine and not everyone can have it.
• A full travel assessment in the same visit, so you are not booking three appointments for one trip.
• Old certificates checked rather than repeated.
• No referral and no registration. You do not need to live locally.
APPOINTMENTS IN CAMBRIDGE
Same day yellow fever vaccination in Cambridge
Usually available. But check the ten day rule first, because a same day appointment does not produce a same day valid certificate.
Leaving in less than ten days
Then the certificate will not be valid in time, and we will tell you that rather than take the booking. What we can do is advise on what else is achievable before you fly, and whether an exemption letter applies to your situation.
Getting here before a flight
Stansted is the nearest airport and Heathrow is a direct coach from Cambridge, so this is an easy stop before a long haul flight.

WHO NEEDS THE YELLOW FEVER VACCINE
Where it is required or recommended
Much of sub Saharan Africa and tropical South America. Some countries require a certificate as a condition of entry. Others require it only if you have travelled through a risk country on the way, which catches people out on connecting flights.
Kenya, Tanzania and East Africa
The most asked question in this category. Requirements depend on your exact route and where you have been beforehand, and they change. Bring your full itinerary including transit stops, and it will be checked properly.
South Africa
Frequently required if you are arriving from or transiting a yellow fever risk country, and frequently not required if you fly direct. The answer depends on your route rather than your destination.
Thailand and Asia
Yellow fever does not occur in Asia. A certificate is generally only relevant if you are arriving from a risk country, which is why people transiting through Africa get asked for it.
South America
Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Bolivia and others, with requirements varying by region within a country as well as between countries.
Hajj and Umrah
Saudi Arabia requires yellow fever certification for arrivals from risk countries, alongside its meningitis requirement.

YELLOW FEVER VACCINE Cambridge FAQs
£95, including your certificate. There is no separate certificate fee or consultation fee.
Only if your practice is a designated yellow fever vaccination centre. Most GP surgeries are not. Only designated centres may give the vaccine and issue the certificate, which is why yellow fever is the one travel vaccine you usually cannot get at your own surgery.
For most travellers, a single dose now counts for life under current international rules. Bring an old certificate, and we will check it rather than repeat the vaccine.
At least ten days. The certificate is not valid until ten days after the injection, and that date cannot be brought forward.
Yes, which is why it is not suitable for everyone. Pregnancy, a weakened immune system, thymus disorders, severe egg allergy, being over 60 and having it for the first time, and being under 9 months old all need assessing first.
No, not free. It is one of the travel vaccines charged everywhere, including at NHS practices that offer it, because it is not part of NHS travel vaccination provision.
Prices vary between providers and change, so compare on the day. What is worth comparing alongside price is whether the certificate is included, whether you see a doctor, and whether the appointment includes a proper travel assessment for the rest of your trip.
At a designated yellow fever vaccination centre. We are at Cambridge Country Club on Toft Road in Bourn, about eight miles west of central Cambridge just off the A428, with on site parking.
The certificate does not. Even if an older certificate states a ten year expiry, it is still valid, because the rule changed retrospectively.

Nothing in particular. There is no need to avoid alcohol or exercise. If you feel off for a day or two, take it easy and paracetamol is fine.
