Booking or walking in
Same day appointments are usually available, and you can walk in during opening hours. No referral, and no need to explain why when you book.

Same day appointments, no referral, and you can walk in. We are on Beaumont Street in central Oxford, opposite the Ashmolean and beside the Randolph, around ten minutes from the station. If a result is positive we treat it here rather than sending you elsewhere, and nothing goes to your NHS GP unless you ask us to.
Most people who book this are anxious about two things: the result, and being seen. Both are worth addressing plainly.

This matters more than how soon you can be seen. Testing too early gives a result that reassures you wrongly. The Early Detection panel is for less than 10 days since the exposure, the Complete panel for after 10 days, and HIV testing is reliable from 28 days. If you come in too early we will tell you, and tell you when to come back.

Results come back the next day and someone talks you through them.

Usually yes. Same day appointments are generally available and you can walk in during opening hours. No referral needed.
It depends on the test. The Early Detection panel from under 10 days, the Complete panel after 10 days, HIV from 28 days. Coming in too early is the commonest mistake, and if you do we will tell you when to come back rather than take your money for an unreliable result.
Yes, and no. Your records stay with us and nothing goes to your NHS GP unless you ask us to.

No, and you do not need to live locally either.

We are on Beaumont Street in central Oxford, opposite the Ashmolean and beside the Randolph, around ten minutes from the station. It is a general medical location rather than a signed sexual health service, so nobody in the waiting area knows why anyone else is there.
Yes, where we can, at the same location. Chlamydia and most bacterial infections are treated here. Syphilis and HIV need specialist care and we arrange that referral.
