Confidential STI Testing Without the Awkwardness

Getting tested should be straightforward. Most people put it off because of the conversation rather than the test itself, and the test is usually the easy part: a sample, a short appointment, and results the next day.

Everything here is confidential. You do not need to be registered with us, you do not need a referral, and your results go to you rather than to your GP unless you ask us to share them. If something does come back positive, treatment is straightforward for most infections, and we will talk you through exactly what happens next without any judgement.

When to Get Tested

Timing matters. Some infections are detectable within days, others take longer, and testing too early can produce a false reassurance. The panels below are built around those windows.

How STI testing works

  1. Step 1

    Choose Your Screen

Pick the panel that matches how long it has been since possible exposure, or call and we will advise.

  2. Step 2

    Book a Discreet Appointment

Same-day slots available. Nothing on your record goes anywhere without your say-so.

  3. Step 3

    Give Your Sample

Quick and straightforward, usually a blood sample, a swab or a urine sample depending on the test.

  4. Step 4

    Results the Next Day

Results come to you directly, with a clinician available to explain them and arrange treatment if needed.

What is private STI testing?

Private STI testing is a confidential screen for sexually transmitted infections, carried out at a clinic without a referral and without involving your NHS GP unless you want it to. You choose a panel based on how long it has been since possible exposure, give a sample, and get results the next day.

The timing is the part most people get wrong. Different infections become detectable at different points after exposure. Chlamydia and gonorrhoea show up within days, while HIV needs around 28 days for a reliable result, which is why testing too early can be falsely reassuring. If you are unsure where you sit in that window, call and we will tell you which panel makes sense and whether you should retest later.

If a result is positive, that is not the disaster it can feel like beforehand. Most STIs are cured with a short course of treatment, and the ones that cannot be cured are managed well enough that people live entirely normal lives. The important thing is knowing.

Private STI testing vs NHS sexual health clinics

An NHS GP is free at the point of use but often has longer waits and shorter appointments. A private GP is paid for directly, usually seen the same day or within days, with longer consultations and greater continuity. You can use both, and seeing a private GP does not affect your NHS care.

  • Unusual discharge, pain when passing urine, itching, sores, unusual bleeding or pelvic pain. Many STIs cause no symptoms at all, which is why testing matters even when you feel fine.
