About Surgery
Not all lump and lesion removal is the same. Ours is genuinely surgeon-led: your procedure is carried out by a consultant plastic surgeon, in a dedicated, state-of-the-art minor operations theatre, not a treatment room.
Before anything is removed, your lesion is assessed by a dermatologist for expert review, so you have specialist eyes on your skin. Where a retained lesion needs to be analysed, we arrange histology. Through out your visit, a surgical nurse is with you, so your care flows from the first consult through to any follow-up.

Your procedure is carried out in a dedicated, state-of-the-art minor operations theatre, equipped and maintained to full surgical standards. Having a proper theatre, rather than a consulting room, means better sterility, better lighting and equipment for the surgeon, and a safer, more controlled procedure for you.

Mr. Samuel George completed his plastic surgical training at the Northwest Deanery in 2019, after graduating from the University of Aberdeen in 2008. Samuel is a prominent surgical educator in the United Kingdom and a member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) and the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH).
Physician Associate
Priya is a devoted Physician Associate working at Private Medical Clinic. She holds a BSc in Biochemistry from Keele University and an MSc in Physician Associate Studies from Buckinghamshire New University.
Private GP with a Special Interest in Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine
Dr Sonia Khorana is a private GP with a special interest in dermatology and an aesthetic doctor. She graduated from the University of Liverpool Medical School and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Dermatology, awarded with Distinction, from Queen Mary University of London.

When should a lump or Lesion Be Checked
Most skin lumps are harmless, but some are worth having looked at, and a few should be seen promptly. It is sensible to get a lesion checked if it is growing or changing, changing colour or has more than one colour, bleeding, itching or crusting, sore or inflamed, or new and you are over 50. A mole that looks different from your others, or that has changed in size, shape or colour, should always be assessed.

- Your lesion is assessed by a dermatologist before anything is done, and where a removed lesion needs looking at, histology is arranged.
- Any retained lesion, a plastic surgeon closes with care to keep scars small and discreet, and explains what to expect for your scar.
- Some lesions can recur; it is just our nature if the sac is not fully removed, which is why we take the whole cyst and wart sac out.
- Adults only. All our procedures are for patients aged 18 and over.
