Asbestos Medical Examinations

Asbestos medical examinations and health surveillance, with statutory records maintained.

Required by law for licensed asbestos work, with records kept for 40 years. The examination covers respiratory health and fitness for the work, and the paperwork has to satisfy the regulations rather than simply exist.

Book your ASBESTOS MEDICAL

If your employees work with asbestos, the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 require you to arrange medical examinations for them, and to keep the records for 40 years. Getting this wrong is a compliance failure, and the requirement differs depending on what type of work your people do.

The distinction that matters: licensed work requires examination by a doctor appointed by the HSE, at intervals of no more than two years. Notifiable non licensed work requires examination by a relevant doctor. Non-notifiable non-licensed work does not require statutory medical surveillance at all.
